UTAUT in Metaverse: An “Ifland” Case

Since 2021, big tech companies have been interested in metaverse platforms and services. Metaverse is the permanent, immersive mixed-reality world where people objects can synchronously interact, collaborate, live beyond limitations of time space, using avatars immersion-supporting devices, platforms, infrastructures. On merge real virtual world. Because has only recently begun to be studied, there are dozens studies on published qualified academic journals. There few empirical extent which will accommodated lives information system users from an integrated perspective. Therefore, this paper aimed empirically verify user acceptance by referring unified theory use technology (UTAUT). This study was conducted two stages. (1) The concept research trends platform were examined, (2) UTAUT model introduced “Ifland”, one its users. I a laboratory experiment while complying with quarantine rules. Participants required watch 15 min lecture artificial intelligence “Ifland” for sufficient time, then they discussed impacts others lecture. A total 120 valid data points, excluding insincere responses, collected, hypotheses verified through PLS analysis. Results indicate that performance expectancy, effort social influence significantly increased satisfaction, usage intention, purchase word-of-mouth intention. Facilitating conditions had no significant impact satisfaction. results provide implications how should designed what factors emphasized increase platforms.
